SERVICE DESIGN TOOLS

ECOSYSTEM MAPS

Ecosystem Maps are used to understand the servicescapes that a company or service touches and interacts with. They are helpful in visualizing and understanding the broader view of how a service effects multiple entities and industries.

See the full project for this map here.

SERVICE BLUEPRINTS

Service blueprints are a way of visualizing the simultaneous actions of a customer journey from different perspectives. They allow you to see the direct and indirect interactions between customers and employees, as well as the supporting processes that are behind it all.

This blueprint was used to understand the processes behind our local Panera Bread branch and create a clear visualization that was shared with the manager.

DATA VISUALIZATION

A major part of service design is being able to visualize and present complex data in a comprehensible way. Infographics are one way to show this data and can be created in many different styles and formats.

These infographics were based on chapters from service design textbooks and scholarly articles and user tested around the city.
